Growing up in Oldham, Greater Manchester, Clare has always loved fashion and as a teenager would buy fabrics and make her own pieces. As a mother she wanted to set up her own business to have more agency and flexibility in her work. She strongly believed that modern women shouldn’t have to choose between quality and cost; between contemporary trends and clothes they actually function. She combined these interests to start ME+EM.
