Kawah
After years of growing up in exile, Michelle’s family returned to live in Rwanda, and her father started a coffee farm in the same village where his own father had once been a coffee farmer. Fast forward a few years, and Michelle moved to London with her husband and two daughters, but she knew that she wanted to continue supporting her family’s business in Rwanda. Michelle was always so impressed by the community of women coffee farmers who work tirelessly to produce one of the best specialty coffees in the world but soon noticed that no one in the UK were aware of these women and their stories. There were also no coffee brands in the UK that were fully traceable from farm to cup, so, deciding that she should create the first one, Michelle got to work and Kawah Coffee was born.
