In 2009, Sharon developed a dangerous allergy to salicylates, a preservative commonly used in cosmetics and cleaning products. She suffered from breathing problems, nasal polyps, eczema, incredibly sensitive skin and had to have major surgery. Sharon was warned to limit her salicylate intake or risk the condition returning within 6 months. As a result of this lifestyle change, she realised there were no beauty products branding themselves as salicylate free – she had discovered a gap in the market! After 10 years of research and development Sharon launched FaceWise, a line of skincare products using the best natural ingredients to help other sufferers live a lower salicylate lifestyle.
