Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses UK helps entrepreneurs create jobs and economic opportunity by providing business and management training to high-growth small business owners in the UK. Small businesses are the engine of the UK economy and at the heart of their local communities. 10,000 Small Businesses equips them with the tools to grow sustainability and unlock their full potential. The programme is delivered in partnership by Goldman Sachs, Oxford Said Business School and Aston University, is fully funded by Goldman Sachs and the Goldman Sachs Foundation, is free for all participants, and to date has reached over 2,000 participants in the UK. The 100-hour curriculum has been designed specifically by world-class international and national experts in entrepreneurial learning to be practical and applied. After graduating, participants enter a global alumni community, where they receive ongoing support through specialist workshops, national alumni events, and ongoing peer-to-peer mentoring. Mastercard has made a worldwide commitment to financial inclusion, pledging to bring a total of 1 billion people and 50 million micro and small businesses into the digital economy by 2025. As part of this effort, there will be a direct focus on providing 25 million women entrepreneurs with solutions that can help them grow their businesses. Programmes such as Strive UK, an initiative designed to help the UK’s micro and small businesses access the support and tools they need to succeed in the digital economy, have been developed with a particular focus on supporting female business owners through free guidance, helpful tools, and personalised, one-to-one coaching.
